Featured Artists from the 2022 LTC Comedy Carnaval hosted by Su Teatro in Denver, Colorado.
The 2026 LTC Carnaval of New Latinx Musical Theatre will be an exuberant celebration of Latine music and storytelling. It will bring together Latinx theatremakers and theatre decisionmakers from across the nation to amplify, illuminate, and forward Latinx musical theatre.
The Carnaval serves as an intervention to combat the lack of authentic representation by uplifting Latinx musical theatre writers, composers, lyricists, directors, choreographers, and music directors. It will also feature the rich talent of Latinx musical theatre performers in the Southern California region, and involve Carnaval participants in rich conversations about Latinx music, music theatre, and the future.
The 2026 LTC Carnaval of New Latinx Musical Theatre will be hosted by the University of California San Diego Department of Theatre and Dance, La Jolla Playhouse, and TuYo Theatre.
We are now accepting submissions to be considered for the 2026 LTC Carnaval of New Latinx Musical Theatre! The deadline to submit is December 1, 2025 at 11:59pm PST. You can view the submission guidelines here and our Frequently Asked Questions here. For any additional questions, please contact LTC Producer, Jacqueline Flores at jacqueline@ltcommons.org.
We will be working with actors, directors, music directors, and various other roles for Carnaval. While we will need to prioritize artists from Southern California for budgetary constraints, we do anticipate bringing in folks from across the U.S. where possible. If you'd like to be added to our database for these roles, please fill out this form.
